Quick Stress Fix In 5 Minutes

When I’ve had a busy day at work this is my Go-To quick stress fix.   Drop my things at the door and hit the floor. Within 5 minutes I’ve regained my sanity.   This simple yoga posture doesn’t require anything fancy, you don’t even need a yoga mat.   Try it out for yourself and let me know how you feel.

How to declutter your wardrobe

How to Declutter Your Wardrobe with help from a Friend     Decluttering can be more fun and less traumatic when you have someone to share the experience with.   In theory “keep what you love, throw what you don’t” sounds easy, but it can be tougher than we might think.   Because women are ’emotional feeling beings’, we tend to get emotionally attached to our things. Some things remind us of loved ones, others bring back nostalgic memories of fun times and some have hooks that go right into...

Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart – An Inspiring Story       We are continuously presented with opportunities to choose whether to follow our heart or follow logic and remain in the status quo.   The heart connects you with your higher spiritual aspirations, what you are here for and how you can best serve others and the planet.   It places these things of importance first and then all else follows from here.   If you follow your heart it will choose the direction towards the larger view for your life.   Your mind...

21 Days of Quietude – A Retreat

21 Days of Quietude – A Retreat

I’ve just returned from my annual retreat. 21 days of quietude. Decluttering my mind, replenishing my nervous system and reconnecting with nature.   This year I packed a tent, a torch, a sleeping bag and enough food for 21 days and set off to a free camp on the edge of a lake in central Queensland.     Within a few days my sleeping rhythm had aligned with the sun, moon and the stars. With only the moon and torchlight to see I was in bed by 6.45pm each night watching the stars appear. Around 5.30am I would...

Intuitive Travel

Have you ever wanted to go some place different, off the beaten track, a path less travelled?   And yet, when you share your dream with others they reply “Why on earth do you want to go there?”   But you cant really answer them because you don’t really know. Its just a feeling, a pull of the heart, a gut instinct or a small whisper faintly heard when you were caught unawares.   These people, you know the ones. The ones that look afraid when you mention your travel dream and yet are quick to reassure you...

Hello Slow

Hello Slow

Slow has become a worldwide movement, slow food, slow travel, slow cities, slow thinking, slow medicine, slow sex, slow work, and raising slower children. The origins of the Slow Movement began in 1986 in Italy with Slow Food. Carlo Petrini founded the Slow Food movement to promote the use of fresh local foods, grown with sustainable farming techniques, prepared with love, and consumed in a leisurely manner in the company of good friends and family.   I stumbled upon Slow, not because I was living a crazy busy life but because...

Dreaming of Tuscany?

Dreaming of Tuscany?

Dreaming of Tuscany, but cant quite get there?   If there is one place on earth that continues to lure me in my dreams its’ Tuscany. It all started when I watched Under the Tuscan Sun with Diane Lane and then watched it again and then again. This year while retreating in Cairns I came across the book and like most things in my life, I didn’t “plan” to read it, it just jumped off the shelf at me. Under the Tuscan Sun is a travel memoir written over 20 years ago which became an instant International Best Seller and then...

My Self Healing Journey – Part 2

I had read about meditation in London, but I’d never been drawn to taking a class. I didn’t think meditation could help me because as far as I was concerned, meditation was for the mind and my problem was in the body. Right? Wrong.   As fate would have it, I arrived in Thailand and within a few days I was booked on a ten day silent meditation retreat on the southern island of Koh Phangan. Famously known for its full moon parties, Koh phangan was a tropical island paradise. However I was not there to party, I was...

My Self Healing Journey – Part 1

I often get asked about my self healing journey and so Ive decided to share it with you. Its been a long journey, spanning over thirty years, so Im going to break it up into transformational stages which always seem to happen in different countries around the world. The first country was London and the first stage was when I became a Seeker or Way Finder. Back then I was seeking or looking for a way to relieve my pain, naturally. But over the years Ive realised I was really seeking or finding my way back to Love, Truth, God.   It...

Sensuality Meditation Course

Sensuality Meditation Course

Bringing awareness to the body is one method used in ancient meditation practices. The breath is another, reciting mantras is another, focussing on a candle flame, object or image is another. Whatever the method, the aim is always to have a focussed point of concentration to draw your attention away from the thoughts in your mind. To let go of the “monkey mind” as described to me on my first 10 day silent meditation course I attended over 20 years ago in Thailand. The monkey mind jumps from one thought to another, from...
