From Worry to Joy – the fun way

There are times when life seems difficult, things aren’t flowing smoothly, there are hick ups and set backs and worry gets the better of us. When the mind begins to override the heart, trouble is brewing, the slippery slope is appearing and we know if we don’t get into our hearts fast, she ain’t gonna be a pretty sight.   Forget the “To Do List”, I found a beautiful tool to get you from worry to joy – the fun way. It’s called my “What makes me happy page” –...

Self-Care = Contentment, peace, love

Self-Care = Contentment, peace, love

How many times do you feel frustrated because you are unable to find the time to do the things that are important to you? The most basic principle of self nurturing is to make time for yourself. Call it ‘ME TIME’, ‘MUM’s TIME’ ‘QUIET TIME’ whatever works for you, but the most important thing here is that you make it happen. Without time to yourself there is no self.  Woman are great at giving to others and not always good at finding time for themselves to replenish their own resources or do the things they love...

10 Things I’ve Learned About Intuition

Listening, trusting and following my intuition has has created a life beyond my wildest dreams and this is what I’ve learnt:   1.    My intuition speaks to me all the time, but sometimes I may be too busy to hear it.  As I pay attention, my inner guidance comes through more clearly. 2.    I know when I am following my intuition, because when I do, I feel more alive. 3.    Tuning into my intuition works best when I relax, let go and feel a little more deeply than usual. 4.    Checking in with myself each day can be...

Sexuality in a Box

Sexuality in a Box

Do you find it difficult to put yourself in a box and label your sexuality as heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, etc. The closest truth I have found is that a women’s sexuality is fluid, is not set and changes throughout a women’s life if she allows it to. However so many of us presume we are either heterosexual or gay without questioning the possibility that there is more to our self-expression than this. I recently read a book called Sexual Fluidity – Understanding Women’s love and desire, written by Lisa M Diamond, an...

Eating Healthy in Byron Bay

Byron Bay is renowned for its healing qualities and women visit from all over the world to take time out for themselves, to heal for many different reasons and from many different ailments. Arriving in a foreign town or country can be quite daunting if you are healing from cancer, have special dietary requirements or sensitivities to food. When women come for massages at the Day Spa or stay on retreat, these are the places I recommend to them for healthy, organic, local food, free from nasties and made with love: On the main street (Jonson...

Raw Chocolate Caramel Torte

Don’t let the electronic age stop you making wonderful raw food cakes. This recipe calls for a food processor, which I don’t have. I wondered how my Grandmother made her cakes without a food processor and it brought back memories of my sister and I standing in Nana’s kitchen, on stools at the bench, mixing everything by hand, and having so much fun.  So I made this raw chocolate caramel torte with just a spoon and a bowl. The good old fashion way. It was enjoyably slow and at the end I got to lick the bowl and the spoon....

Improve your sex life

Did you know Kegel exercises can improve your sex life and your orgasms, along with a whole host of other benefits as well? In the 1940s, Dr. Arnold Kegel began to prescribe an exercise to women who were having problems with incontinence. That exercise known as the Kegels, is the repeated engagement of the pubococcygeus muscle, also known as the PC muscle. (This is the muscle which helps stop the flow of urine). But not only did the women find contracting their PCs helped with their incontinence, but they also noticed that it had...

Are you hormones playing havoc?

If you are suffering from PMS, hot flushes, moody days, night sweats, fatigue, osteoporosis, period problems, brain fog, emotional upsets, tender breasts, vaginal dryness, sleeplessness, its time you knew about Maca! Rather than hormone therapy more and more women are putting their faith in Maca, a health giving root vegetable from Peru which has been used as an ancient remedy for over 10,000 years. It is a powerful adaptogen, which means it has the ability to balance and stabilise the body’s systems. It supports the endocrine system (great...

Soulful Journal Writing

Soulful Journal Writing

My idea of a Soulful Journal is that it is a place for me to go to where I can explore everything I desire about ME.   A Journal is where I can learn about myself. What I like or dislike, what I dream of, what I desire, my inner deepest feelings and thoughts, the things I may not share with anyone and may not even know about myself, ideas I want to manifest, things I’m afraid of, or feelings I don’t have names for.  I am free to explore the darkest parts of myself and be dazzled by the lightest. ...

My Byron Bay Favourites

Women frequently ask me where to eat, what to visit, where to shop in Byron Bay. Here are my favourite places I recommend to all my clients:   FOOD SHOPPING – Baz and Shaz – The best kept local secret… shop for local, organic and everything including a toothbrush. Locally owned and operated by husband and wife, with great friendly staff, easy parking and no Byron Bay traffic to contend with over Xmas. Forget Woolies, Baz and Shaz are only a 7 minute drive south from town in Baywood Chase. SMOOTHIES AND RAW FOOD –...
