Eating Healthy in Byron Bay

JuicesByron Bay is renowned for its healing qualities and women visit from all over the world to take time out for themselves, to heal for many different reasons and from many different ailments. Arriving in a foreign town or country can be quite daunting if you are healing from cancer, have special dietary requirements or sensitivities to food. When women come for massages at the Day Spa or stay on retreat, these are the places I recommend to them for healthy, organic, local food, free from nasties and made with love:

On the main street (Jonson Street) in Byron Bay are two really good health shops Santos and Fundamentals, they both have organic produce and all the other things you would expect from a good health shop.

Naked Treaties is my place of choice for smoothies, raw food, juices etc and it is just off Jonson St (this is the main street) on Marvel street. See their website:

Asia Joes is an Asian Fusion casual eatery which serves delicious stir fries, fresh salads, curries and laksa, packed full of colourful veggies hand-cut daily.  Gluten-Free, Vegan and Kids Meals a speciality. A unique Byron experience using local produce and no nasties. They are on Bay lane at the end of Jonson street by the beach.

Byron Organic Kitchen and Heart and Halo are on Byron Street (again off Jonson) and both serve yummy bakes, salads, healthy wholefood type of food, local produce etc.

The Byron Farmers Market is on every Thursday morning from 7 -11am and this is a great place to go for local, organic and fresh food, along with music, breakfast food, raw food etc.

Another favourite place of mine to visit is the Crystal Castle. It isn’t actually a castle and it sounds a bit new agey, but it is a beautiful place to go to take time out to sit and reflect as it has wonderful gardens, an organic food cafe with produce grown on the land, a crystal shop, book shop, a Tibetan Stupa, a labrynth, ponds, peaceful places to sit and just let go.
