Self-Care = Contentment, peace, love

How many times do you feel frustrated because you are unable to find the time to do the things that are important to you?

The most basic principle of self nurturing is to make time for yourself. Call it ‘ME TIME’, ‘MUM’s TIME’ ‘QUIET TIME’ whatever works for you, but the most important thing here is that you make it happen.

Without time to yourself there is no self.  Woman are great at giving to others and not always good at finding time for themselves to replenish their own resources or do the things they love doing.

Taking ‘ME TIME’ allows us to be more present, more efficient and more loving because we have taken time to love ourselves first.  When our “self love” tank is full then we have energy and love to give.

With 2015 just around the corner it could be a good time to ask yourself:

What are you not doing that you wish you were?

What is missing in your life?

Now is the time to make YOU a priority in your life.  Rediscover what makes you walk with a skip in your step, have a twinkle in your eye, glow from the inside out, or smile for no reason at all, maybe even whistle a tune or sing a song out loud without realizing.

Self care and self nurturing can connect us to our passions because we have taken the time to reconnect with ourselves. When we take this precious time to tune in and give ourselves what we really want and do what we really want to do, we may begin to find out things about ourselves that we had previously put on hold, been overriding or even ignoring.

Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.

Dream up a ‘Bliss List’ of heart opening and inspiring activities you would love to do. Feel your body as you do this, it may relax, expand, or feel excited.  You may even sigh with relief as you body recognizes that you have finally listened and acknowledged something that has been wanting to be expressed for some time. Brainstorm without censoring and jot down your ideas. Through the week add more ideas to your list.

Choose just one thing off your list and give it to yourself this week! A Christmas present to yourself  :-)

When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings you joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.
